From Ottaway Lake
via Red Peak Pass. Not a pleasant hike. Climbed over Red Peak on the way back to Ottaway. With Tommey and Wes.

From Red Peak Pass
Ascended the southeast face to the summit ridge, which looked spicy. The southwest face is reported to be class 2, so I moved over to that, but had to down-climb a couple hundred feet and attempt a couple of routes before I found one that took me back up to the ridge -- still short of the summit, but an easy traverse from there. Might have been better just to stick with the summit ridge all the way. Afterwards I descended the southwest face, over some steep friction granite, to head over to Red.

From Grayling Lake
A nice scramble from Grayling Lake. The ridge gets super knife edgy near the summit which is quite exciting. Great views of the nearby and far away peaks from the summit. Cool peak!

West Ridge
Overnight trip from Mono Meadows, up the west ridge. Enjoyed the last part of the ridge. Stayed at the lake to the south, then up Red Peak, Merced Peak, and Triple Divide Peak the next day.

Gray - Red Combo Dayhike
From Mono Meadows TH via W-Ridge. Then descended the SW face and climbed Red Peak. Beautiful area with lots of wildflowers. The hike back out didn't seem to end. Lots of mosquitos at Mono Meadows.

Dayhike from Grayling Lake and traversed from Mt. Clark. Nothing crazy like Bob or Matthew. yet.... : ] One day, I hope to do the whole Clark range traverse in a day!

Much easier without snow on the ground. Still, a pretty long day. Was hoping to tag Red Peak as well, but I failed to read the beta and tried to follow the connecting ridgeline - time got the best of me and I called it a day. Trip Report

Long dayhike out of the Valley, with considerable postholing--with snowshoes!--up the last 1500' or so before the class 3 bit. A very tiring outing, one of the tougher hikes this year so far, but a fun and satisfying one.
