Pleasant trail
Bluebird day with some haze. Very peaceful area with many knolls beckoning all around. The lake view below the summit would be outstanding if it weren't for the trees!!
Hiked up with my brothers a few years ago for a easy day hike. I loved the views of the lake.

Fun
Nice 2-hour hike after my departmental retreat at the UCLA Arrowhead Conference Center. Beautiful views of the lake and across to San Gorgonio.

North ridge / trail
#6 of 7 for the day -- accompanied only by Zeus and Loki. Walked the road to HPS route 1 up through brush until I hit the trail. Turns out the trail isn't closed or people (hikers & bikers) are ignoring the closure.

Nice hike
Easy hike to a peak with decent views (slightly obscured by trees). The rocks are a nice place to hang out and eat lunch. The true summit is a couple minutes away and easy to find. The summit log is brand new and in a cheap little G2 container.

Grays Peak
Went up the trail from Fawnskin in the afternoon. This is one of the more popular peaks in the area.
Did this early one morning. Heavy tree cover at the top obscures the view of Big Bear Lake, but it was a nice quiet uphill hike. Coming down there was a parade of 30+ people, numerous dogs, and two horses coming up . . . not a hike I'd do again.

On the way to Butler Peak
Rode up from Grout Bay to near the peak and hiked up the last little bit to the summit. Rode up to Butler Peak next and returned via Hannah Flat Trai and Gray's Peak trail. Still a nice area despite the fire last year.

Grays Peak Trail
An early morning hike on the trail, shortly before being re-opened to the public. Trip Report

Great trees.
A very pleasant place to hike, lots of shade unlike some of the other trails around here. The summit rocks are a cool place and eat lunch while watching the lake.
