multi hill tour
I had always been put off from hiking in this area due to traffic, but that's not the case right now. For an urban park it's very clean and quite pleasant.

'My backyard'
'my backyard'... I climb this all the time, as it's very accessible for me, an easy hike, and get a sweet view of the Boston skyline at the top!

Sunny Spring Saturday
Part of a 6-mile loop along the Skyline Trail from Route 28. Busy place. Nice views at the top.

First time out east
Trail covered in a couple feet of old snow. Good view of the area from the tower.
For more challenge, solitude, and views, follow deer paths to reach steep slabby scrambles on the south slope, but check for ticks afterward!

Day in Boston
Spent a day in Boston before a conference and tagged Great Blue Hill and 3 other nearby county highpoints. No views at all due to a storm and cloud cover at the summit but the tower at the top was cool. Fun day.

Enjoyable Hike
During a day which I had done multiple CoHPs in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, I visited this peak. This mountain is worthy of a hike, which is short but enjoyable.
With that said, the fact that a "range" has been created on SummitPost is quite possibly point-bagging at its lamest aspect. Most of the named summits in the so-called "range" are nothing more than indistiguishable hills and really not worthy of SummitPost (IMO). With that said, Great Blue Hill is the exception due to it being the highest point in eastern Massachusetts as well as a CoHP. Great Blue Hill is definitely worth a SP page and a visit.

Many times
Went here to hike and avoid the brutal cold on the higher summits New Hampshire. However it was much warmer down on these summits. Also it was a good reason to check out the big dig.
