Late afternoon/early evening hike on a sick road trip from Boulder. Went to Carlsbad Caverns before this. Perfect temps, no wind, clear views. A great experience.

Afternoon climb. 1 hour and 40 minutes to summit. Side trip to El Capitan. Ran out of water on the way back down. Very dry, good thing it wasn't any hotter.

Beatiful climb
Third ascent. This time scrambled up the SW side, then intersected with and took the trail a few hundred feet from the summit. Climb took about five hours, we walked down in the dark.

Beautiful Day!
Wonderful cool and clear day. At age 66, it took a lot out of me to make the climb, but I did it! Will train more next time.
finally completed six loops in one day... hoping to up that to x7 or x8 in 2011... time will tell!

Great Hike
I was the first one up that morning. Perfectly clear day and not much wind...surprisingly! On the way down I met lots of school kids on a field trip from El Paso attempting to make it to the top in sneakers, jeans and one bottle of water. They kept asking me "are we almost there?"!

Awesome trip
Hiked to the campground by headlamp then summited early the next morning. It was cold and windy that morning and we saw what was likely the last patches of snow in Texas.

Completed for Cops on Top memorial hike. Started early to avoid heat and had the windless summit to myself. Great views of surrounding area and overall a very enjoyable hike.

Unique
A truly unique summit. I spent the night at the campground and then climbed the summit in the morning. This was my second time to summit with the first being completely overcast with no views. I just knew I had to come back.

Hiked Guadalupe in perfect weather, then camped at the top. This peak is absolutely gorgeous. The difference b/w the peak and surrounding basin is incredible!

Distinctive Range
Linda and I hiked the Guadalupe trail to the summit under overcast skies and at time strong winds, but otherwise was a very fun hike with interesting views of this very distinctive mountain range.

Guadalupe
There wasn’t much wind this morning, so it was time to climb Guadalupe Peak, the highest mountain in Texas! Shaylee, Kessler, Kimberly and I left in the morning and made our way steadily up the peak. About 2/3 of the way up there was quite a bit of snow and ice along the trail. The snowfields near the summit were the hardest part of the climb and I wished I had brought and ice axe or crampons for the peak in order to help the kids up.
After enjoying the summit and chatting with a few fellow climbers we headed down the mountain. All of us had a good time and it was great to climb the mountain in perfect weather.
