Hairy Woodpecker Feeding Chick

We found a Hairy woodpecker chick in a nesting hole just off the Deer Mountain Trail in RMNP. Mom soon came back with food, and has just fed the chick before glancing over at us. The mountain was completely fogged in, so bird and wildflower sightings saved the hike for us. July 2009.
