Re: where were you standing?I'd love to say I climbed to some point above Half Dome just to get this shot. I reality, I cheated, this was taken from the plane. So I suppose I was sitting rather than standing in the pilot's seat. ;-)

Funny...You can see the spot where I camped and hung out just the day before. And I was thinking "Man, I can't believe how many planes are flying over Yosemite". It was hard to take a decent picture because of all the plain trails. Cool shot!

Re: Funny...I was coming back from Lone Pine airportand looking down at Half Dome I was wanting to be on the ground. Glad you were there. I was the plane turning sideways as I tried to take the picture and fly.

Re: Funny...I actually really appreciate the photos from way, way up there! As someone who has her feet on the ground more than in the air (on planes), I've really appreciated the magnificence of the Valley from the air. I caught this shot while on a regular ol' charter plane (while not in the pilot's seat!). http://www.summitpost.org/image/276360/El-Cap-in-winter.html
Sometimes when I was in the Valley, I felt really small whilst surrounded by the mass and age of the granite; from the air, I've found it amazing to see the mountains and cliffs dwarfed by the perspective... :)
