It was during last year's heat wave that I ended up in Greensboro. I was fortunate to drive up to Hanging Rock State Park and reach the summit early in the day before it got too hot.

I had always avoided the summit of Hanging Rock whenever I was in the park, opting for longer hikes to other destinations. But at last I bagged the park's namesake summit. It's a neat little hike!

Made a Nice Loop HikeMade a nice loop hike by going up to Moore's Knob and then all the way around to Hanging Rock. Nice little state park.
