North Cottonwood Creek
Hiked up from the west via the trail up North Cottonwood Creek, an excellent alternative to the popular east side. About 12 miles, 4,500 feet. Got to watch a Prairie Falcon circling the summit area.

Cold and Windy
Climbed Hardscrable after doing Sacajawea and Naya Nuki. So windy and cold. Also there were hundreds of people on Sacajawea. Busy day, great mountains.
Climbed from Fairy Lake TH with my wife. Dozens of skiers heading up towards Sacajawea side. Had the whole Hardscrabble side to ourselves. Thing of beauty. Watched a large herd of mountain goats for awhile. Fantastic!
Climbed from Upper Cottonwood. The trail disappeared under snow so I cut up early onto some miserable loose stuff that made for an exhausting traverse. Descended to the saddle between Sac and made my way back to Upper Cottonwood off trail since the trail was lost to snow and lack of maintenance. More adventure than I was hoping for solo but a great day.

Dog terribly gored!
Took the Corbly Gulch trail. My dog was gored after harassing mountain goats near the summit.
Every now and then, I turn right at the pass and do Hardscrabble instead of Sacajewea. It gives you a great view of Sac and is close to the same climb.....

Standard
Nice relaxing day. It was funny watching people ski several tiny patches of snow. Gotta get those September turns in somehow.

Climbed Via Corbly
Climbed Hardscrabble via the Corbly Drainage. It was a long day, but very rewarding. Saw two mountain goats, and a great number of people over on Sacajawea.
Have been up this one many times. Most recent was to watch the sunset for the 2006 summer solstice. Nothing like brie cheese and strawberrys on the summit!
