Change the latitiude to negative and west- a software patch is doing it for you but it fouls up the distance feature. Your mountain appears to be in china. Signature: choose your favorite Haw Orchard photo and hover the IBM type mouse over it and you can see the 5 digit photo id number. Edit your page and on about the 8th item down put in your photo number and it will pop up on the first page.
Thanks. My first summit sponsor. Hope to do several more as soon as I can lay my hands on a digital camera. Planning some overnight trips into the Black Mountains in 2004.
Little Pinnacle is 5,089 feet and Big Pinnacle is 5,068 feet on Haw Orchard Mountain. Found that on the signs up there when I did the loop trail over to the Visitor's Center. Haw Orchard itself would be 5,089 ft summit then.
I believe the highpoint for Haw Orchard Mountain is actually Little Pinnacle or the knob closer to the Visitor Center. Big Pinnacle is a slightly lower knob on the mountain (though I liked the cliff climbing a little better on Big Pinnacle). Otherwise, nice page. Good info, Grayson Highlands is a beautiful place. Definately will be returning.
All I have are some pictures of the rock face on Big Pinnacle from Massie Gap. It is not really clear because of the haze. I guess I misspoke a bit. I think of the cliff area as more of scrambling than rock climbing directly. But certainly one can have a good scramble if they poke around a bit. Sorry about the pix.
Yes, there are certainly some rock climbing opportunities on the cliffs there. Since I don't rock climb, I'm always looking for photos of rock climbers on peaks that I summit.

Be sure to put the negative in front of the numerical longituded. On my keyboard it's the key to the left of the +/= key.
