Gould Haystack Swiftcurrent
4/11/17 w/Ryan Stadheim
Gould - Haystack - Swiftcurrent Day
Made the 'bump' more interesting by climbing on the rocks on the northeast side. Lots of fun and super quick access to the summit.

Fun hike
Hiked from Logan Pass. Saw a goat take a huge whiz on the trail in front of us.

A Cool-Down
Climbed Pollock, Bishops Cap, GTTS, Matahpi peaks the previous couple of days so wanted and easy one this day to cool down. It was cloudy, cool, and smokey but this peaked needed to be off the list and it's easy :) Climbed with J Hawes

Lazy day the hard way
Hiked up from Haystack Creek with Madelyn. It was too easy to do the Class 2 walk up, so we took the Class 3 direct route to have as much fun as possible!

side trip
Left trail at the big switchback leading towards Haystack Saddle, then scrambled up the class III direct route from there. Fun views from the top. Took grassy class II slopes down and met my girlfriend and her family for lunch at the saddle. Stiflingly hot day, especially for September!!!
Also on September 6, 2021 with manyglaciermountaineer (simliar route to one described above).

Wanting to play it safe since I only had half a day and no climbing partner, I caught the first bus from St. Mary and summited in the morning. It wasn't until returning to Logan Pass that I saw other hikers out.

climbed in summer snowstorm
planned on climbing bearhat this day--instead, after logan pass was closed the previous day due to snow, i opted to go up haystack butte on yet another snowy day. i hiked up from weeping wall (via the creekbed) to the highline, then crossed over to the base of the butte in thick fog, heavy snow/sleet/rain mixture, and lightning and thunder that seemed to be just above my head. there was NOBODY out hiking that day. i made it to the top when the clouds cleared a moment, and hung out with a goat at the top. saw lots of bighorn sheep, as well. the extreme weather made this simple hike seem like much more--i only hope i get to do bearhat another day.

Haystack Butte
Excellent views, but sharing the highline trail so many times got annoying. Should've summited from the Weeping Wall. Climbed with Rebelgrizz and Tater.
Another beautiful day in the Park with light crowds and plenty of sunshine. The high pressure was just locked into the area prompting a trip the following weekend to climb Piegan
