Haystack's impressively steep Eastern slope. Almost entirely devoid of trees, one can't help but wonder how awesome this slope would be for skiing (avalanche risk notwithstanding). September 11, 2004.

Excellent picture of Haystack.

I haven't done it yet, but it is on my to-do list!

Haystack is my favorite. It is FAR though, so I recommend staying at the Johns Brook Lodge (which we did), or camping out nearby.
