Not a bad little hike. Took the wrong logging road on the way up, so we bushwhacked until we connected to the right road. Everything made sense on the way back!

Nice Outing
With an odd "inversion layer" weather pattern occurring, it was actually 15-20 degrees WARMER at the summit than at the car. While the fog ravaged through the lowlands, the summit had spectacular views. A well-trodden route allowed us quick passage with minimal effort. No snowshoes, crampons, or microspikes needed.

snowy!
Lots of snow - what a great snowshoeing adventure! Stay on the ridge, even when it heads into the trees ... the summit will sneak up on you, and it is worth the effort - beautiful!

A good little one
Not enough snow to use our snowshoes. It was EastKing, Josh Lewis, Raymond, and myself. We had some difficulty finding the correct logging road on the way up but we found it on the way back down.

nice
Fairly straigt forward clmib... that is once you find the trailhead. TH is burried in the 'Newport Hills' development that remains unfinished on the E side of Salmon Le Sac Rd. Wander around on the dirt roads for a while and keep to the right and you'll find it.
good pre-season conditioning climb. Snow is beginning to melt off the trail/roads, but it is still 95% covered. Use snow shoes unless you want to want to use twice the energy gettting up/down.

SnowshoeGreat conditions for a February snowshoe. The road to the trailhead was a bit icy in places, but had an amazing day on the summit.

SnowshoeMicrospikes and snowshoes were used on an overcast day. Still had some good views though. Decent option for the winter season.
