"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

Afternoon HikeClimbed up after climbing Mt. Beljica earlier in the day. A short hike, but incredible views. It feels like you could jump and fly down to Longmire.

High RockTrailTagged this one after doing Shriner Peak earlier in the day (made for a nice 11.6 mile, 4900 foot gain day). A fun, fairly steep little hike with a great payoff at the top. Amazing views of Rainier and Goat Rocks and even Adams looked nice in the distance. My feet felt like they were glued to the ground on the way up, but still made it in 50 minutes. 30 minutes back down with a stop at the viewpoint a few hundred feet below the summit for some pictures. Made it back to the trailhead just as the sun was setting, when I saw a 'UFO' hovering over the Tatoosh. Great end to a fun day.

Cool cliffsHad done one in the Goat Rocks earlier in the day and was going to do another this afternoon but ran out of time. Snuck in and got this one done instead. Pretty constant climb on the short hike in. 1400 feet in about a mile and a half. Did it in about 40 minutes or so. Only had small glimpses of Rainier. Hiked back down the cliff edge on the way back.

Route Climbed: High Rock Trail Date Climbed: August 30th 2002Came on a cloudy day and missed out on the volcanoes. Still the views were impressive and lookout staffer Bud Pamko was worth meeting. This is one I will return to for a sunset on a clear day.

Route Climbed: High Rock Trail Date Climbed: June 24, 2005Snuck this one in the early morning hours while my wife was still sleeping in Ohanepecosh Campground. I dodged about 7 elk on the way and scared one medium sized black bear (on the road) A neat little hike to a great viewpoint. Bob Bolton had recommended this one and he was right on. I spent an hour on top and just enjoyed the panoramic views in all directions.
Too bad the clouds started coming in and quickly took away any decent lighting for my photos. Come on Bob and Paul, post away.
