Highway on Cotopaxi

Just out of the refuge, the trail to Cotopaxi is wide. Very wide. If conditions are reasonable not really bad, a lot of climbers try for the summit every night. In addition those that go up to the glacier the day before the climb, as I was doing this day. Add to that a few day tourists, and this is the result. Normally there is no snow around the refuge, but as for precipitation, this climbing season was far from normal, as testified to by you many Ecuador trip reports. 21 December 2010.
