"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

Hike to the top of Hoffman MtnWe started the hike at the end of the service road past Rancheria Trailhead. There is a locked gate blocking the rest of the road and we followed that until pass the creek just passed the downed tree across the road/trail. Once the creek is past, you can start heading east off trail meandering through the forest running into volcanic outcroppings. Once past that you curve around and head a little southeast until you come to the saddle between and unnamed peak and Hoffman. We then headed east to the top of Hoffman. It was a fairly easy hike with great views at the top.

Golden Tower Direct (5.7), Bear's Lair (5.8)Beautiful rock in a backcountry setting. A little bushwhacking on the hike up, but after a couple of trips up and back we started to discern the least-brushy path.
Short-ish approach, so we brought a fair amount of gear.
