Blizzard
Out of no where a huge blizzard came rolling through on this spring day making the drive from Campbell Hill far more adventurous than I had expected. it stopped snowing when I arrived and i got some cool photos of the nearby field. I wish it was warmer so I could have hung out on this pleasant little HP but oh well I had to drive as fast I could to airport so I didn't get stuck in Indiana overnight. Made it safely HP #27

Weirdest HP Experience Ever
Long drive from NJ where we bagged the OH HP earlier in the day. The weirdest HP experience ever! There were some old folks doing some prayer rituals on the HP with matching chanting, some flags with like arabic writing, Israeli flag with some weird drawings draped on the summit marker, swinging pendulum over the IN map laid on the ground, stainless sword in front of the summit marker, jewel encrusted scepter, white mini-stone tablet with mysterious engraving, capped with blowing of animal horns at the end of each prayer... doesn't get any stranger than that! Anyways, they were pretty nice folks, talked to us and let us sign the register and take photos with no problems.

1st of two for the day
I was actually pretty surprised how beautiful the area is. The state road up from the interstate was pretty fun with all the sharp up and downs.

HP #1 for me and the kids
Well, we've finally started on what we hope will be a long term adventure with my son (age 12) and daughter (age 8). Visit was on a sunny August morning. So peaceful and quiet at this high altitude. Loved the stone marker for pictures and the nice log box.

Fourth HP
Surprisingly charming. The improvements on the "summit" are very nice.

HP #4
This was the fourth highpoint for my brother and I. The area was very peaceful and well maintained. Snagged one of the postcards as well as a copy of Apex to Zenith for one of my friends who's also interested in highpointing.

Indiana HP #2
Hoosier Hill was my wife and I's second highpoint of the day. This highpoint is so quiet and peaceful. There also is a nice engraved rock that has been placed at the highpoint making it easy to find. No one was there at the time that we were, however per the logbook someone had been there earlier and dropped off some Highpointers Club newsletters. Thank you whomever that was. We had gone to Campbell Hill, OH earlier in the day and is a good one to tackle with this one as it is only about 2 1/2 hours away from this highpoint.

SHP #15
No one else there. Nicely developed site, cute little trail that circumvents the highpoint itself.
The biggest thrill was taking highway 227 south from Hoosier Hill going well in excess of the speed limit. HIGHLY recommended on this roller-coaster road; the fines from any citations would be worth every penny. Not very safe, though, and probably a dick move to the locals.

Nice HP site / #24
Was impressed by the comfortable site. Benches, Picnic table, Register.. Sign Post replaced by engraved stone marker. Access to 'Trailhead' is now a gravel driveway.. 'Summit' cards for date of ascent.. Postcard for High Point.. all very nice (and didn't have any trouble with the 'skeeters'..

#1, 49 Highpoints to Go
Hoosier Hill! Thanks to the land owners for allowing people to visit. This is my wifes and mine first highpoint! 49 to go. The day we visited was a beautiful winter day 25* and sunny. There was about an inch of snow. Wish we could have stayed longer but were trying to get to Campbell Hill Ohio before dark, which we did but it closes at 3:30 on Saturdays. (Read the Red Tape Dummy)

Indiana highpoint
This was a pretty cool highpoint, and good thing too, because I wasn't too impressed with Indiana until we got to the highpoint.

This was SHP #16 for me. There is a register to sign. (thanks to the person that maintains it) On the day I was there a couple of others had signed in as well. The locals must think we are crazy!

Off of Elliot Road
Pleasant drive from I-70 brought us to Indiana's highest point. Heck, it was even the first time being in the state. Walked a looped path thru the woods and saw no higher ground than what is marked.
