Nice long tundra approachWith Tom Stephen & my boys. Dropped packs at Sunny Pass then hiked 1 mile up arm on 14-mile trail. From there long flat tundra mile to summit.

Iron Gate loopA great Solstice hike from Iron Gate TH. Once we got to Sunny Pass we just couldn't stop, heading east up to the summit of Horseshoe Mtn and then down the long ridge to the south (Albert Camp Trail) to head back to Iron Gate on the Deer Park Trail - a long 9 hours and 17 miles later! Pema the super pug didn't even complain once!
That Albert Camp trail is one of the finest I've ever done...
