Climbed multiple times, but the first was with Kelly. One of my early experiences in the park, and we had heard about the bears, but there were 4 black bears waiting for us at the trailhead! Nice day in the park, but the black flies on the summit were killers!

Grizzly Encounter!
Late Fall hike up to the LO on a very cold Day. Saw a "flock" of "interacial" geese flying together, both Canadian & Snow Geese. Pretty awesome, unusual site just as we hit the saddle with 2 more miles to go. Wrapping around the North side, we found cold Artic air, 3 in. of fresh snow and views across the Park. 12'F @ the LO...brrrr! Steve fired up his stove and cooked us some chili and tea, which warmed our bellies for the descent. Aprrox. 3 miles down, walking on snow we came across FRESH griz tracks, so we stopped to look where he went and they went directly upslope. I could tell we must have just spooked the bear and felt like he wasn't far...sure enuf there he was; apprx. 125 ft. above us was a 350-400 lb. tan/blonde griz standing very still looking down on us! Smart bear/great Encounter. BTW-we did have pepper spray. :)

fall classic
Spectacular fall hike. Incredible fall colors all around. Was very, very impressed by the expansive view of the entire Livingston Range. On the descent we decided to climb up the next high point on the ridge and were rewarded with an awesome view of Lake McDonald and the peaks around Logan Pass (Cannon, Clements, Bearhat). Even able to see Mount Stimson and Mount Saint Nicholas far off in the distance.
Probably my most traveled trail, close, great views, great for late fall, early spring.

Lots of snow
Great spring like day in Glacier. Lots of snow from the Ridge to the summit. We ended up climbing along the ridgeline rather than follow the trail. We ended up climbing to the top of Point 6613 as well and on the return traversed around the west side of 6613. Climbed with Vantana.

Cold and Sunny
Ran in to a Coyote on the trail. 4" of snow still on trail from the early dump 3 days before, the mountains look spectacular because of it. Wasn't thinking, sat my sweaty gloves down in the shade while eating lunch they froze solid.
