Humphrey's
Beautiful crisp fall day for hiking! Started up around sunrise and got to the summit early with only a few other people at the top. Passed a lot more people on the way down.
Five hours on a casual trail to the snowy July summit and back.

An adventure
Rain, lightning, thunder, sleet, temps in the 30's, and strong winds when combined with almost zero visibility above the tree line made this quite an adventure. Also, being from Louisiana, I was affected by the altitude at around 11,000 ft. Awesome day though all in all. Very beautiful hike and so different than the rest of Arizona.
Left St. George, UT around 1:30 am in order to be at the Grand Canyon for sunrise. Due to possible thunderstorms the next day, we left the Canyon and drove to Humphreys to do the hike that afternoon.
I didn't get to experience the famous Humphreys' winds; just bugs and sunshine.

SUPER WINDY!
This is the windiest summit I've ever encountered. It was unbelievable! I'd have to guess that winds were at 60 mph+ on the last little rise of the summit ridge. We had to scramble the last 100 feet due to the wind picking us up off our feet. We made it though.

Humphrey's Peak Trail
It was very windy on top and there were lots of people on the trail. There were areas in the shade that required walking on a few feet of snow, but the going was easy and the trail obvious due to the volume of people that had alreay been on the trail recently. The views and overall experience were great!

Windy is an understatement!
Hiked to the top of Humphery's Peak for the first time Saturday afternoon. A great hike, with amazing views from the top. It was definitely windy once we got out of the trees, but all the wind aside I would highly recommend this hike!
Hiked this with my brother in early June of 2008. Was a great time and we had beautiful weather! There was still snow on the top which was nice. We started our hike around 3:30pm and descended at night. We also had a pretty scary run in with some bears on our way down. We were passing though on motorcycles and camped that night in the parking lot.
Did this one as a nice alternate route on the AZT with Lady Wawa. Kachina Peaks Wilderness, I'm sure, was superior to the unfinished "official" AZT route.

Beautiful Day
So many people warned me about how windy and cold it would be at the summit but it was beautiful and I didn't need my coat. I did this as a side trek off the Arizona Trail thru-hike coming up from Snowbowl and then going down Schultz Pass.

Humphreys & Agassiz
Snowshoe hiked to the summit of Humphreys from the TH near Hart Prairie Lodge. Strong wind on the summit and ridge. After summiting Humphreys, traversed to Agassiz. Nice hike, great views!

Nice Views
Followed the ski lift up then bushwacked through the trees until I finally came to the Humphreys Peak trail. Enjoyed the hike and the views. Wanted to hit the second peak (Agazzi?) but turned around when I saw a sign that said $500 fine.

Fun Day Hike
Fun day hike with Deron. Made it to the summit and half way down before any thundershowers. There were only 3 guys on the summit when we got there but by the time we left, 10 more people and a dog where there. We must of passed another 75 people still on there way up while we were descending. Good job Kim...she hiked the first 2 hours of the trail with us. My 9th state high point.

State HP #13
Day two of my AZ/NV HP trip. The Humphrey's Highway was pretty busy, but not bad. I spent a whole hour on the summit drinking in the views including that big ditch to the north. Thunderstorms were kicking off as we arrived back at the TH so a relatively early start is in order. Whole area was green this time of year!
