From the west, way west.
Added almost 4 miles since the Snowbowl road was closed. Blue skies but no shortage of wind. Had to crouch or hide behind big rocks from the saddle to the summit. You can see the Grand Canyon from the top, but I dropped down as soon as I could. Fair bit of snow, fresh bear tracks and no others.

Fair amount of snow still in the basin made going a bit slow and tedious at times. Fairly mild hike otherwise.
Absolutely perfect weather for this hike. Some fall colors would've really put it over the top. Started out at 8:15a, passed only 8 people on the way to the top. Car to car in 4.5 hours. No snow or ice or mud at all.

Had better luck on Friday the 13th
After 2 previous fails (visits in late Oct 1 year.. then early Oct another) - came out from NJ this 3rd time and had perfect weather / conditions for summit!
Blue Skies and only a little windy (more so on the ridge / final approach than at the summit?!)
I an Huw I am 8 years old and I like to climb mountains. IT iS FUN. We wrote in the book at the top.
I am Angharad and I am 5 years old. I climbed Humphreys Peaks with Huw and our Daddy. I climbed it by myself and was not carried up. It was like walkinmg over the whole world. I wrote in the book at the top.

High point
Thought I'd knock off a high point while we were on a family camping vacation

Night Summit
Left the parking lot at 6:24 pm. Summitted at 9:30 under one of the darkest skies I have seen. The stars and milky way were all in their glory. Trail was a little hard to follow after the first false summit. However, it was very east to spot on the way down. A lot of rocks, so it was hard to make much time, but all in all a nice hike and another state high point.

Highpoint # 18
Toughest/highest elevation highpoint I've done so far. It is time to start eating less junk food, drinking less adult beverages, and exercising more if I want to summit all 50.

Fathers day weekend hike
Great day for a hike with my son - weather was in 60's, clear, sunny day. Met with snow on the trail in the mid section - used microspikes. Snow was melting during the day causing slushy, mushy snow. Upper mile was clear of snow - loose rock. Trail is well marked. up near the top there are tall poles to look for. Great views on top and a bit windy.
I carried my 15 year old dog the whole way and she made a ton of people smile!

A Gorgeous Day
After going to the north rim, I kept seeing this peak off in the distance and thought I’d knock it off on the way back home. The weather was perfect, although the trail had plenty of ice. Some of the others on the route had micro-spikes, so I’d advise you to bring them. I took a couple of spills without them. The peak reminded me of the southern cascades and it was great to come out of the forest right as the sun was setting. A great job way to get back into the mountains after a long hiatus.

HP #20!
One of my favorite HPs to date. Seeing the grand canyon from the summit was amazing. The hike through the forested area is great, too.

US High Point #7
Great hike - trail was well maintained and beautiful. Was making good time until I reached the first saddle and the wind picked up. By the time I was 50 ft from the summit, I was basically crawling to keep from being knocked over! Made it though, caught some amazing views as well. Round-trip took 5.5 hrs.

A Breather During Turmoil
Things weren’t going well so I headed south. Clear skies and mild temps made the SF Peaks a clear choice. The trail was more rugged than expected and my poorly fitted boots ate at my heels. It took about 6 hours round-trip with the sightseeing. I could see several small fires on the plateau and a ranger pointed them out as he finished replacing the summit sign. The lacquer for the previous sign was not up to regulation for a wilderness area.
Only took two hours and fifty minutes up and half an hour less going down. The trail was well set up and maintained. Very windy at the top, which took some of the edge off the day’s heat.
