Very nice shot!Beautiful catch, Larry. I have never seen one in the wild. I came across rattlers more than enough but never a bull snake. Cheers.

there's (5) subspecies of this snake in
California alone. They're also called
Pine Snakes.
Actually, my wife spotted this snake
first! She beat me home, and at
the time we were 75 miles from home!!

My wife encountered a rattler at Roosevelt
Lake, the one in Arizona.
This snake was interested only in crossing the
creek ... so it could get to the other side.
