Turning Up The Heat!
Approching 80 degrees F when I took this
photo near Payson, Arizona. Instead of
joining the "rat race" of people seeking
cooler elevations, I headed to the backcountry
east of Payson. I found this prickly pear
cactus in bloom, just east of the prominent
saddle between Cypress Mountain, and its
lower counterpart Cypress Hill.
Point 5502' is on the horizon to the left.

few houses along the Granite Dells Road
on the east side of Payson (in the
background and to the right).
