Ibapah Peak from the summit of fellow county highpoint Deseret Peak. Not the greatest picture ever, but I posted it here as requested by Dean. I believe this really demonstrates the remoteness of the peak.

The Utah desert

For those who wonder about the expansiveness of the Utah desert, this pic gives a great feel for it. The mountain ranges are desert islands wherein you have everything from snow covered summits, pine forests and rushing streams (in season) but desert surrounding them. Ibapah and Deseret Peaks are both in such ranges and are true jewels to discover. Of course, getting to Ibapah is more difficult than getting to Deseret Peak but both are worth a visit. Thanks Dan for posting this picture. For those who voted only three stars, you missed the value of this one.
