Surprisingly nice route up the North Ridge. Super fast descent down the West Face. Something like 3 1/2 hours car-to-car. My shortest day in the Sierra yet.
Route Climbed: North Ridge/West Face Date Climbed: 5/15/04
Day hike from Onion Valley. Nice snow climb up the steep North chute. Traveresed around after finding the rock on the North Ridge a bit too exposed without a rope. Great day way to spend a day in the Sierra.
I climbed this peak on a SPS trip. This a great half day climb. We got up to the summit in 2 1/2 hours and got down in a 1/2 hour before the thunder storms got us.
Route Climbed: West face Date Climbed: April 3, 2004
Snowed about 8" in the morning. when it cleared up in the afternoon we decided to run up before it snowed again. Climbing the ice/snow covered rocks on the ridge in plastic boots was memorable
Route Climbed: North Ridge/West Face Date Climbed: July 25, 2004
Bypassed the final difficulties on the north ridge by traversing to the west, and found the crux moves to be surprisingly delicate. Descended the sand slopes on the west side--glad I didn't go up that way!
Route Climbed: North Ridge Date Climbed: February 1976
Epic winter ascent. The arete had double cornices in places! Great mixed climbing though. This was a heavy snow year and we had to start at Grays Meadow Campground in Owens Valley.
Route Climbed: North Ridge Date Climbed: August, 2003
Great route, no scree, and rock was solid. Fun airy traverse to the summit. This is a great half-day hike. It's the perfect choice for the day you arrive in the Sierra.
Route Climbed: North Ridge/South Ridge Date Climbed: September 27, 2003
Initially attempted the North Ridge, but I didn't feel good about doing one of the moves near the top unroped with my son. We went lower, swung around to the South Ridge, and easily climbed to the top. Lots of fun once you get out of the scree. Excellent views. Nice half day when you don't have the time for a longer approach.

Route: West Face Date Climbed: July 15, 2006Climbed West Face from Robinson Lake. Can't say I enjoyed the volume of scree, but there was some 3d Class rock to enjoy.
