Ipasha and Merritt

Seen from the goat trail near Ptarmigan Tunnel, these peaks dazzle here and just about everywhere along the long, exposed, and exciting route from the tunnel to Ahern Pass. Ipasha Peak is on the left, and Mount Merritt, with Old Sun Glacier, is on the right. The highest of the peaks between them is called the Lithoid Cusp. Glacier National Park, MT-- August 2009
