While wearing microspikes and shorts
Took me one hour and fifty six minutes up from the small parking area on Rt 49 and twenty minutes less going down. The Sandwich Mtn trail was about seventy percent ice and microspikes were a must. Compared to last year however there is barely any snow at all. Nice view from the top and a good first climb for the year.

Great views!
Crossing the river at the beginning with a layer of ice covering the rocks was definitely the crux of this route. Otherwise a very gorgeous easy hike! I had considered pushing on to Sandwich Mountain, but daylight was running short so I turned around after Jennings.

Sandwich Mountain Trail & Drake's Brook Trail
This was my first winter hike! I actually don't remember much about it other than my boots destroying my feet, having to muck with the crampons to make them fit on my tiny boots, and sliding down Drake's Brook Trail on my butt. Good times.

What a difference a day make in terms of view. In 2001 the view was very hazy with a 5 mile visiblity. Yesterday all the snow on Mt. Washington could be seen.
