Wonderful Photo!I absolutely love these old historic photos of the Sierra and the pioneers that explored them. I hate to 'nitpick', but I think that this picture was taken on the Devil's Crags with Wheel Mountain in the background. I've never been there, but here's a picture from Bob's site that seems to confirm this: Photo.
Best Regards,
Gordon

Re: Wonderful Photo!Howdy Gordon,
Sure looks to me like you're right. The funny thing is that there is no mention of these 2(certainly are Underhill & Eichorn) climbing Devil's Crags while Underhill was visiting. Will have to do more investigation. Will let you know. Thanks for the help.
Cheers,
Mike

Re: Wonderful Photo! All I had to do was walk to my bookshelf and pull out the 1931 SC Bulletin and look for the Mountaineering Notes for 1930. There Glen tells of his Devil's Crags climb with Jules and John Olmsted on July 23. Check out the link here which I just discovered:

This stuff is still lurking in unexpected places.

Re: Wonderful Photo! Thanks for that amazing link, Mike! I see that I have more 'exploring' to do online. :-) By the way, your thehighsierra.org site is one of my favorites.
