Not five minutes after this pic was taken, the skies opened and a deluge occurred. I had just hiked to the top of Kendrick Peak in Arizona and I could see the weather changing for the worst. I covered the 4 miles back down in a bit more than an hour and just made it in time. 5 other hikers weren't so lucky. Did I mention lightning and thunder? Yes, there was plenty of that as well. I did Mt Elbert in Colorado on the 31st and NM's Wheeler on the 2nd. 8-4-08

Down 26 pounds from Jan 1st. Thank you for the nice words and it was you who got me on the
road to health 5 years ago. Congrat's on your
outstanding accomplishments this year. You and Duane are the first to get all 58 ultras, amazing. (includes pre-eruption Mt. St. Helens)

I'm always jumping in and kidding around with
you guys, but I will always remember your special achievements & accomplishments as an
inspiration to my most heartfelt challenges.

Is that Bob Bolton? Did he just return from the dead or the living ???

Seriously, the eruption of Mt. St. Helens
was a decisive moment in geological history,
and I'm glad (we all) were a part of it.

And, you can bet your "ASH" that I'll return
to that area to finish up my hiking. Awesome!
