Nice loop.
My wife and I started out at the Gold Camp Rd / High Dr parking area and followed Gold Camp Rd to a turn off just before the Seven Falls Trail. Once we met up with the Seven Falls Trail, we followed this to the aspen grove, took our right, and followed a faint trail to the summit. Nice views and we had complete solitude. Came down via Jones Park Trail and Buckhorn Trail.

via Bear creek
Great hike ! I hiked via High Dr and then Bear Creek Canyon going around north side of the mountain and then came up the west slope. Greate views in all directions. On the way back I came down the east slope (very steep, would hate to go up this way) and briefly linked up with Captain's Jack to get back to Bear Creek trail

Seven Bridges Route
The day was sunny and warm as we left the truck and started west along the Seven Bridges trail. As we left the trail and turned sharply to the east to ascend the (surprisingly steep) west ridge of Kineo the clouds were rolling in and the wind picked up something fierd. Scrambling on the summit boulders there were moments I thought I'd get blown clear off the side of the mountain! We took some photos, grabbed a snack to ward off bonking, admired the surrounding mountains (including Pikes Peak blanketed in a snow cloud) and got out of Dodge. The winds were just insane. Great hike, though.
Note to other winter hikers: The snow in the upper saddle between that first "hump" the hiker summits and the actual summit of Kineo was DEEP. Since most of the hike is on-trail, we didn't bother with the weight of snow shoes. In the big picture this was the correct decision. Three cheers to Deb for breaking trail/postholing for us. Hiking partners: Husband, Deb & Jon.

Loop in the sunshine
Up the west ridge, down the east ridge, from the parking lot. Slightly breezy on top, but not a cloud in the sky, temp in the 40s.
I think I might have a new favorite front range peak. Got back just before the clouds moved in.

Summertime, and the livn' is easy!
Beautiful weather for the solstice, so I took the dogs, Buddy and Molly, up the 7 Bridges trail to the summit. Just the short route from the parking lot; 1:50 RT.
The first warm day with the snow melted off! I finally tackled Kineo from my home in Cheyenne CaƱon. Roughly 12 miles RT, up the west ridge and down the east side, roughly 3,400 feet vertical. 2:28 up, 5 min. on top, 2:06 (tired!) down.

autumn run
The last sunny day before a predicted period of rain and snow, so I ran up the mountain from the Gold Camp Road trailhead with Molly the red shepherd. Hardly saw anybody. One hour and 53 minutes, including five minutes on the top.

early morning climb
Left the Gold Camp Road parking lot TH at 4:15 am and got to the summit at 5:24. A partly cloudy morning with temps in the 50s. Nice, quiet, and had it all to myself.

My second climb of this peak. A beautiful, sunny fall day. Ran most of the way. Time up (from Gold Camp Road 4-way parking lot): 1 hour, 3 min. Time down: 50 min. Considerably better than my time last January. Great views; got some nice pictures.

Great short half-day climb. I did it in the clouds and muck, but still had a good time. The only view from the top was of what csmac likes to call the "Old Man of the West."

I took my wife up this time so she could experience the beautiful Seven Bridges. The cloud ceiling was around 9K', so there were no views from the summit. The snow covered boulders were a little much for my wife on this outing, so she waited about 300 vertical feet below the summit for me. Both times I have been up there, the views have been 50 ft tops, but I knew that going in. Some nice day I will get up there!

Climbed Kineo as part of my local El Paso county named summits project (#38). We took the excellent Seven Bridges trail as noted in the route description here to the western saddle, then it is a short stroll to the summit. On this day, we were in the clouds but I bet there are awesome views of the city on a clear day. Great hike to do in winter.

Route Climbed: West Ridge via Seven Bridges approach
Great summit! The Seven Bridges trail is always beautiful with Undine Falls as a highlight. The scramble up the west ridge was great with quite a bit of snow. The traverse down the east ridge over Points 8,720 and 8,540 was fun.
