But look

how the glaciers on the left obviously in some earlier time must have ended just outside la Grave. When was that? During the Little Ice Age that the ICCP claims never happened?

Little Ice Age happend in the Alps for sure.
At roman time they were less glacier in the alps, for example people could walk from Italy to Zermatt valley with no glacier on the path.
Glacier last maximum (Little Ice Age) in the Alps is arround 1850, cold maximum was arrount 1650.
Glacier in la Grave ? , that was at the time you (Nordic People) were living on the mediterranean coast!
Global warming effect is more easy to see on valley glacier (Glacier Blanc, mer de glace, Aletsch, Morteratsch glacier in Bernina group)

The biggest difference visible on the picture is that the mountain agriculture has almost disapeared today, and was developped one century ago.
Forests were smaller due to wood-energy use.
