Dow so other than being thoroughly enjoyable ;) , was the approach fairly intuitive (based on DeAngelo's directios) or much potential for screwing up?

Re: great write up
Radek, I don't not have DeAngelo's book....I learned about his book from the write up you and/or Courtney put up on your Red Rocks page. My approach came from Handren's book and it is not very good (even though I think he does a great job as a whole). The ramp that works is the obvious one to the right as viewed from the road, but his topo drawing got us off track. Joe is as experienced as myself at examining topos photos, etc. and we both thought he was talking about a break further south. It is not such a "Z" as he shows. Just a large bushy ramp, left to right....that leads to a saddle. From the saddle, it is very obvious and the upper wall is in sight...tons of holly and Oak Scrub....done much tougher approaches of course, just did not find it that pleasant or scenic. I still would have rated the climb higher in my mind if it was cleaner and more interesting....I also think you maybe ought to rap the route to the right, forget the name....vs go down into Oak Creek Canyon...has to be quicker...cheers
