The register can was ladybug heaven as it for some reason attracted lots of them to its confines. 5-28-11

I believe Roberto means that the "colour"
of the register can has something to do
with attracting benificial incects.

In this case, the can was painted red.
Therefore, RED is a prominent color and
acts as a "massive magnet" in attracting
the little ladies ...

Then again, I could be entirely off base ...
perhaps even in Centerfield.
