took it slooooow to fill up a 4 day backpack. We kept the mileage low on this beautiful March weekend so we could really meander and take in all the sights of the High Chisos (and because of one recent hip replacement). Laguna Meadows; Southwest Rim to Boot Canyon to Northeast Rim; back down Boot to Emory Peak trail; scramble to the USGS marker; then down the Pinnacles trail to the car. BRING LOTS OF WATER! (very little murky puddles were found near Boot Canyon Spring, but it is unreliable)
We went up the Laguna Meadows Trail, crossed over on the Colima Trail, climbed to the top of Emory Peak for lunch, and hiked down the Pinnacles Trail. It was a clear day and the views were spectacular. We saw a mother black bear and her two cubs along the Laguna Meadows Trail.
