Do yourself a favor and climb this mountain from Chile. The rules on the Argentina side are f***ed up. Your experience will be billions of times better if you just avoid it and don't talk to the guards. You can't reason with them either. For all intents and purposes, this mountain may not be worth your time. Also, contrary to what is said on the page, there are no buses that go to tromen from either san martin or Junin after February. God damn this mountain can be a pain as I paid so much for a taxi and they wouldn't let me climb it. Don't waste your time here unless you climb it from Chile. Climbed it in shorts and a T-shirt solo from the Chilean side after renting a car in Pucon for about 30 bucks/day
