Cranked it up the hill
Switchback City for 2,000 feet of climb. Not super easy for the cataclysmically out of shape. Not that that stopped the tourist crowd (and I include myself) easy if you are in shape and really hard if you're out. This was my wife's first 3000m Peak and it was grand to have the Mount Everest moment with her.
Note; a snow cone stand on top would be a gold mine and a stunningly good idea. I'll write the Donald and see if we can get that in place.

From SW Park Entrance on snowshoes
The easiest way to the summit in winter. About 12 hours RT. You will need aggressive snowshoes like the MSR Lightning Ascents.

Climb/Ski
Tough in approach shoes on frozen snow lower section but blazed the cinder trail and scrambled to summit, then skied SE face. Good stuff although short day.

Southeast Ridge, Winter
Starting at Kohm Yah-Mah-nee, walked the road as far as it was plowed, then on to snowshoes up to the ridge proper, and into crampons to the top. Not another soul seen all day once past the road construction by Sulfur Works. Returned to the car after dark, enjoying a moonlit road down.

Interesting trail
My son and I decided to give the peak trail a shot during our backpacking trip to Lassen. We had a good time and met some characters along the way. I think our favorite was the guy wearing flip-flops and a homemade tin foil hat.

Nice day hike
Hiked it with a group of high school friends. Carried my 1-year old most of the way. Learned not to jog/run at 10,000ft (major headache)!

A nice Hike
It was a nice easy hike, although this was by far the most crowded trail I have ever hiked in all of my mountaineering. So when it's open, expect there to be tons of people going up and down.

Administrative fail on this route. Who the hell closes down an entire mountain for a month for trail work? Oh, the NPS does :)
I know how you feel on this. The day after I climbed the trail, it was closed. We thought about using the trailhead for another peak near by but was worried we would be accused of climbing Lassen while trail work was in action.

Great Hike
Well maintained trail, nice short scramble at the summit.
Snowshoed in from the SW entrance, snowcamped around 8500' the night before. Pretty good snow good coverage up high, but some thin spots due to a drought year and wind scouring. Cold and windy at the top.

I was a young lad when my father took me up this mountain. I think somewhere between age 7 and 9...which would have been 1982-1984. I'll have to update this when I get a picture and the year from him!

CHAOS Beginner Mountaineering Clinic
Spent two nights in the snow beneath this peak teaching some members of the Cal Hiking and Outdoor Society (CHAOS) basic winter mountaineering skills from climbing and beacon searches to snow shelter construction. We topped it off with a nice snow climb of the peak.

Early morning hike. Very windy. Sunrise from this mountain was beautiful. Brought back 35 year old memories of when my dad took me for a hike up Lassen when I was 10 years old. It was the first mountain I ever climbed.

Lassen Peak was the very first mountain I ever climbed. I was ten years old. My father took me for hike to the summit. I don't remember much except how awesome I felt when we reached the top. Little did I realize........that this was the start of my love for climbing and all that the wilderness has to offer!
