Re: WOW!

It is well worth it! Julian Alps are really special group and I mean that on the level of whole Alps. My humble opinion is that they bellong among top 10 Alpine groups if beauty is comparing factor.

Re: WOW!

I agree. I have been to Slovenia twice and have every intention of going again. Not only are the mountains beautiful but also the rivers (e.g. at Bovec).

Your photograph is awesome - thanks, but I'm deeply envious.

Best wishes,

Thanks Tony

Thank you Tony, very much!

That beautiful river near Bovec is Soca (pronunciation Socha).

Believe me, I am envious too when I see all those beautiful photos on the site. I wish I could visit all those amazing places. For example you've seen Brenta Dolomites and I still didn't. As someone said on this site 'So many mountains, so little time'. I couldn't agree more. And I would add - Never Enough Money. But thanks to this fantastic site we can all share experiences and witness places out of our reach and be envious :-)

Best wishes,

Aleksandar

Re: Thanks Tony

Regarding money, I partially don't agree. With my Jasmina and our three kids we spent every summer somewhere in the Alps. In previous times when we didn't have money and in present times when we do have it. But we always manage to sleep somewhere in sleeping bags, eat from our rucksacks, actually the only expenditure is gasoline. In last three years we go every second or third weekend somewhere abroad, doing 300-500 km and it costs us one full gas tank. That's all. And you must eat at home as well. The problem in the last years is more the lack of energy to do really some new adventure.
