Leading "Handbook" on Aid

Looking up the perfect dihedral of "Handbook" (5.11a or C1) in Tuolumne Meadows. You can see from the rope angle how overhung the route is -- it doesn't look that steep from the ground, but it is. :)

Handbook on aid

I totally believe you. You know how steep it is if you look at the direction the draws are pointing. The only way to show the steepness of a climb is to get the shot from the side. But, I'm sure your belayer didn't want to drop the rope and go taking pictures.

A few placements above where I am in this picture one of my pieces popped and I fell maybe 10 feet. He was actually using an auto-belay device so when I fell, he COULD have been off taking pictures and I wouldn't have known! It did feel good to have someone with their hands on the rope though. :^)
