Quick detour on the Enchantments thru-hike. Looked pretty simple from Isolation lake, and indeed it was. There was a good dusting of snow which only left some boulders popping out - probably hiding a good deal of the cairns. Required some route-finding, used Alltrails for that. Found some boot paths and cairns every now and then. The top is quite flat and doesn't have a prominent peak - therefore didn't have panoramic views. Could see Adams, Rainier, Glacier, maybe Baker.

Snowed out
We had planned a fall backpack into the Enchantments for a week of peak bagging. It had rained the week before. Above Snow Lakes we ran into fresh snow, the first snow of the season. Missed our window by about a week. Had to settle for a snow scramble of this one before going back down.

Little Annapurna/Enchantment Peak -- Single Day
This was potentially the last weekend with summer condition, so decided to give it something extra. Pro tip, don't do these in the same day. This time of year, start in the dark, end in the dark. Beautiful weather and views. Colors are losing their gold and starting to go brown. Little Annapurna certainly had some snow and ice, but it was easy to navigate around. Enchantment Peak was completely dry. Did the NE summit. The very short summit scramble is solid and a nice break from the chossy route to the top.
Very fun and beautiful solo day hike. Joined the hordes in the upper basin and on Little Annapurna after relative solitude on Dragontail.

Nighttime climb
After a 7 hour snowstorm that left us tent bound for most of Wednesday, the weather finally cleared up fairly late in the evening. Left camp at Tranquil Lake around 9:00PM, reached the summit in 35 minutes, back down just after 10:00. Used ice axes; pretty straightforward route.

Double bag
A long day, but went climbers right at Asgard and tagged the Witches Tower first, then through a couple glissades and some sidehilling with good snow, made my way up Little AP. Had the summit to myself. Went back via typical approach route - fun, LONG single solo push

South Face via Crystal Creek
Fun route and the entire area had lots of evidence of the huge rain storms that flooded the area the previous week. The gully above the tarn in Crystal Creek was fun and the south face route itself was solid and around 5.5....see my route page!
In a one day thru hike we climbed Witches Tower then walked the ridge above Isolation lake to little A then continued down to crystal lake and out.

Nice scramble up Little Annapurna in about 45 minutes from camp down in the upper lakes. Didn't do the traverse from Dragontail unfortunately...that would have been a nice link with the Witches Tower.

Light and shadows
Went with EastKing and cyohma via Asgard Pass. Beautiful setting with clouds casting a few shadows, Isolation lake frozen over and bear tracks crossing it. Asgard was no problem coming up in the frozen morning snow but, going down, it thawed considerably; creating waterfall hazards and dangerous conditions for glissading. I agree with EK that it's probably resembling June conditions and past it's prime for glissades.

Via Asgard
Beautiful mountain!! Little Annapourna was very beautiful. Conditions though are early June and glissades down Asgard are quiet risky.By Memorial Day it will be downright dangerous to glissade down Asgard.
