Perfect weather. Did this as part of a day hike from Stuart Lake TH to Snow Lakes TH. Made for a long day with Little A. thrown in. Fun and easy scramble. Great view of Stuart and The Nightmare Needles.
Took the south-eastern route, a great class 3 hike / scramble. Amazing views, despite looming clouds.

North Slope
Solo hike/scramble. Left from the Stuart Lake TH at 8:20. To N end of Colchuck L. by 10:20. Another hour took me through the boulder field on the S side of the lake to the start of the ascent to Aasgard Pass. Up to the pass in 2 hours with a nice easy pace. From there I skirted around a few lakes to the NE side of LA then up that heading SW to the NW of the summit, where there is a use trail for the last few hundred feet. Summited at 3:30. Left after 10 min, back to Aasgard by 4:45. Was getting pretty tired by then so went down trusting boulders I wouldn't have normally, fortunately with only one minor fall. Stupid, I know. Back to the boulder field at the lake by 6:15. By here I realized I wasn't going to make it back to the car before dark, and I had forgotten my headlamp. A nice man at the lake gave me a half litre of water as I had just ran out, which really helped. Back to the N end of the lake by 7:10. Reached the Stuart L. trail around 8. Fortunately by the time the sun went down I was on the smoother portion of the trail. It was pretty dark for the last 20 minutes or so. Finally saw some headlamps in the distance, a couple of guys in the parking lot planning on going up DT the next morning. Back to the car at 8:50. A great day and an absolutely beautiful area. Next time I go up here i'll have to get a permit and stay a couple of days in the UE so I can fully enjoy the area.

Route Climbed: Southeast Rock Gully from Crystal Lake Date Climbed: September 18, 2005
Peak one on annual trip with Flanders. We camped at Snow Lakes the night before and hiked up through the Enchantments. Went down to Crystal Lake and then saw gully up the left side from there. Easy with one Class 3 move. From there it was easy slopes up to the top. Wanted to hit Witches Tooth after that but was worried about daylight. As it turned out, we were in the dark from the start of the descent down to Snow Lakes and hiked by headlamp back to camp. Great day hiking through the Enchantments.
Route Climbed: standard walk up Date Climbed: 18 July 2005
Don't sign many walk up peaks but had to comment on this one. Views from the top were absolutely unsurpassed. 360 degrees of beauty that included Rainier and Enchantments. Walk up was 95 percent granite slabs and just a few patches of snow. Very glad we decided to check this one out.
