Too Crowded, but still amazing.
Stayed at liberty spring tentsite before heading on the franconia ridge for this one. Climbed liberty and flume the day before. now that i've linked those two up, i think i would fill water at liberty spring and then stay in between liberty and little haystack. There are some great spots in there.

Franconia Ridge Traverse
Up Bridle Path, down Falling Waters
GeekTuesday - May 24, 2018 7:58 pm Date Climbed: Mar 31, 2018
Rough Start
Came up Falling Waters and left via Lincoln and Lafayette and the Old Bridle Path. First ascent almost did me in but I was in terrible shape. Definitely will do this traverse again!
Came over from Lincoln and Lafayette as I did the loop up Bridle path and down Falling Waters. Started at 0530, so avoided the crowds during most of the hike. Great weather and actually a bit cold in spots.

Falling waters
The waterfalls were beautiful covered in snow and ice. Perfect clear weather at the top, but windy and cold.

Luckily we reached this summit before the clouds rolled in and obstructed all views.

Little Haystack Climb
Did this mountain as part of the Franconia Ridge loop; an 8.9 mile trail over 6 summits. Cold, icy, very windy, exhausting, but exhilarating with excellent views of the Pemigewasset Wilderness when the weather is clear.

Lots of Bugs
Climbed this in the morning after summitting Mt. Liberty. There were a ton of bugs up here, so many so, that the back of my shirt was literally covered with hundreds of them. We quickly moved on from here.

Fun in the clouds
My girlfriend and I set off on the Falling Waters trail around 6am, arriving at the summit of Little Haystack around 9:30am. From there we traversed the ridge to the summit of Mount Lincoln. From Lincoln we set off for the summit of Mount Lafayette around 12:15pm. We had zero visibility all day above treeline, making it tough to navigate certain sections and gauge how far we had to go. We finally have top of the line gear, except that my new new-matic BD sabretooth crampons kept popping off my Koflach arctis expe boots. After the 4th time they came off I switched to my hybrid crampons and life was swell. Took the Bridal Veil Falls trail 2.9 miles back to the trailhead, arriving around 3pm. Great day.
