Long approach
Approach is tedious on the dirt road but last mile on the summit ridge is great!

Splendid solitude
Was hoping for a bit more snow, but things were mostly dry. In the trees there was just a touch of coverage. Only saw one other pair out. What a beautiful mountain.

Warm day
Very nice hike mostly on the road, little scrambling to the top. Nice views of LCW and South Platte area. Together with Brian C and Bryan M.

Great Winter Campout
Hiked in from the West. Found a great place to camp at the base of the mountain. No water in the creek but enough snow left to melt. Scrambled up West side and connected with cairn marked trail towards the North end. Enough snow and ice to make the climb interesting at times.
Climbed with Sarah Simon and ShredDeb from the west. Long winding road approach to a fun climb with fantastic views. Took the side trip out to PT 7774 on the way back and lunch at the "Snort" afterwards. My first trip to Buffalo Creek, cool area!

From the west with UN 7774
Another dynamite day in the South Platte area! Long Scraggy is an exceptionally lovely and dramatic peak, and I really enjoyed this one. We tacked on a side-trip to UN 7774 which provided super views of LSP (plus visits from lizards, snakes...all kinds of fauna). Topped it all off with the mandatory visit to the Bucksnort afterwards. With ShredDeb & ChicagoTransplant.

With 7774 and Raleigh
LONG day along the Platte. Started from the Little Scraggy TH. Adding Raleigh to this trip was a bit of a stretch, but made for a nice, long day.

The wife, pup and I scambled up the west face, descended the north ridge, and then hiked over to Point 7774, which is a neat summit and worthy of the trip as well.
This was a nice and fairly easy hike, but evidence of recent wildfires in the area was very apparent. What a shame!

North Ridge Route
The day was overcast which made the ascent more wintry. Still a wonderful day to be on a peak such as this. My first introduction rocky summits of this area.

Fun in the snow
More fun than it looks. A little harder in the snow.
Nice hike. Stayed on the ridge most of the way to avoid the snow. Great hike to kill time. Seeing a lot of the Platte formations from the summit left me wanting to climb rock. I was surprised to see that there wasn't more growth in the area, especially since it has been years since the fire. Climbed with David Worthington. R.I.P. David. I miss you.
Colorado Mountain Club hike. We had a great hike. The weather was gorgeous, though it got pretty warm on the way down. We also made really great time on this one. We started at about 8:30 and got back to the cars at around 1:30. A few of us went to the true summit while the rest of the group stopped at an outcrop on the west side of the mountain.
