Hiked this peak a few minutes after hiking North Mountain nearby. Puddles from a rain yesterday had wrought many mosquitoes. Overcast skies, very very humid, but views were nice.

Favorite middle of the night hike
Lookout is my favorite mountain to climb at 4 am after staying up all night with good friends and lots of beer consumption. Had many enjoyable jaunts up in the moonlight, and watching the sun come up over the McDowells is just beautiful! Last time I was up(May)it was gusting about 35 mph and at the saddle between the east and west summits, it felt like you could be blown down to the water tower.

Lookout Mountain
Hiked this twice, once during the Phoenix Seven Summits. This was the last summit of the day and I was smoked! Easy fun summit.
hike this one many times between september 2002-2004.
first time up the temp was about 106, almost did not summit, to hot. Never hiked in temps like that again.
Lived on bell road not far from this summit. I used it as a way to get my knees back in shape before getting into more difficult hikes. I would hike to the summit then hike over the the small pinnicle to the west. I would then fallow the ridgeline across the other 3 point on the west side then down the hills and across the flat area of the park back to my car. Or I'd do this the other way around. Depending on my mood. Great way to keep my knees and legs toned.
Done the pinnicle from both the east and west side. Fun scrambling on the east side.

Windy Day
Reached the East Summit, attempted the West Summit, but the wind was gusting at about 30 mph that day. I did not feel comfortable climbing exposed Class 3 with strong winds that day. I will return again, to finish the job.
