The Lost Creek Wilderness is one of my favorite places in the Front Range - no alpine lakes or majestic waterfalls, but the rock formations are amazing! It's also the closest wilderness area to my home in Colorado Springs.

I remember that day very well. You missing the turnoff to meet me at the park and ride. You sleeping outside in brutal temps. My ankle killing me because I injured it playing basketball with a bunch of kids that pressured me into playing a pick up game at the rec center. Unconsoladated sugar snow. Attempting Tarryall Peak first then retreating due to deep snow. Feeling like we conquered the world getting up on some unnamed crags to just see McCurdy Park. Tough day, but memorable.
