This is lower Lost Pete Creek. This is typical of all the streams coming off the base of Black Mountain. I found myself down here with no way out. It was either climb a few thousand feet back up 80-90% brushy slopes or go down the creek, which passes through wet, moss covered, crumbly rocks against raging water. If you are here you are in trouble, and you can assume you are probably the only person in years to see the place. I don't know who Pete was, but he was really lost. July 1999
