Lots of brush and stuff

The first two miles is spent finding your way up the drainage through brush, trees, and stumps. Stumps? It seems much of the area had been logged about 100 years ago but the road that allowed the trees to be taken out had been obliterated by floods and rockfall. In the first two miles, we gained about 1500 feet of elevation, some of it easy, some of it difficult thanks to the brush.
