Re: Elk?

There were no dead ox up there but there were plenty of Elk up ahead on the Southeast side of Lowe Peak. Lots of people from SP here in Utah have been seeing Elk up there lately. I got a picture of 42 of them together but I heard the herd is 80+ strong. I bet the cattle up there have the same big numbers too. Personally I prefer the Elk myself. Many Thanks and happy trails

P.S. Maybe they should rename the area Big Elk Pass? Just a thought.

Re: Elk?

My opinion:

They should rename Lowe Peak "Elk Peak,"
then refer to Dead Ox Pass as "Dead Hunter
Pass."

Just my two cents ...

Re: Elk?

I was checking out an old topo and it looks like most of the Elk we saw out there were in what is called "Lowe Baisn". There are some nearby springs there called the "Government Springs". Who knew that the Elk of the Oquirrhs were included in the bailout package? Dont tell any republicans....they would hate to hear that.

Re: Elk?

Yup, I just KNEW Uncle Sam was involved in this!

Perhaps they should rename 'Lowe Peak' as
"Uncle Sam Peak ??? ?"

: ))

Re: Elk?

And ..

'Picnic Canyon' should be renamed "Cow Pie
Paradise?"
