from Como
With Carson. Lyon and Peak 8651 ("North Lyon") from Como on a dreary, windy, and gray December day. Very moody skies! The outing took 4.5 hours, as the going is slow for the most of the route, lots of brush and spiky shrubs to contend with. But there are also enjoyable, open stretches along the ridge, and in the initial pinyon forest as well. Awesome view of the Sierra from up there, a unique perspective. Went over and bagged Rawe afterwards. The road up to Como from Dayton is in rough shape.
Hiked from Como Saddle up to North Lyon Peak 8,651' and then up to Lyon Peak. Difficult hike. Got caught in some brush on the way up.

From Como Saddle
Hiked down from Como Saddle to Stone Spring (with a detour along some of the powerline/mining roads) and then ascended the ridge from the east. Found a use trail (and remains of a rancher camp) towards the ridgetop, but it didn't seem to go the whole way back to the saddle.
