Maasai Boma

Ilkurot villagers in a traditional Boma (family plot). Ilkurot is a small community of farmers and cattle herders located on the lower North West slopes of Mount Meru. Each Boma is owned by one man who may have up to 9 wives. The huts seen here are composed of sticks, cow dung, and rhinoceros grass. Photographed December 14, 2007.
