Great photo of Mammoth MountainWhere is "False White Mtn?" It looks like it's connected to Mammoth mountain via a ridge.

Re: Great photo of Mammoth MountainFalse White, unnamed on topo, 12,002' is just south of White Mtn. which is just south of Mt. Conness on the crest northwest of Tioga Pass. It's an easy class 2 day hike with great views. Mammoth Peak is across hwy. 120 and Dana Meadows several miles south.

Re: Great photo of Mammoth MountainI am sorry, but I'm still confused. I understand False White being just south of White Mountain. But how is all that connected to Mt.Conness across Owens Valley. Unless, there is another White Mtn in the vicinity of Conness, and not connected to the White MTn Peak range.
When you say White Mtn, are we talking about the White Mtn Peak across Owens Valley?

Re: Great photo of Mammoth MountainYes Marc, there's another White Mtn., 12,057' along the crest next to Conness not to be confused with White Mtn. Peak.
