Good stuff Mark. I like the detailed info on the pictures and the info provided on camping spots. Will definitely be useful for me in the future. Posting the Ring of Steall on SP is something I've pondered in my head. Would you post it as a mountain or...as like a mini range, within a range. I think you've probably nailed it to be honest.
One minor comment would be that the pictures on the right hand side of your page seem to be half missing, and therefore so is your text underneath. It could just be my laptop, but it might be worth looking into for the benefit of other SP'ers.
Anyway, its good to see another addition to the pages covering Scotland's peaks.
Thanks alot Stephen, comments appreciated. I wondered if I'd overdone the pictorial info as a few hits but no votes - until you & Sarah. Hmm - don't know about the distortion you are getting on RH side though. I think screen size may be a limiting factor? I think I have noticed something like that on a smaller more square screen in the past somewhere - and SP doesn't cope if you minimise it on the screen - as I have tried to do when putting stuff on, working from more than one open doc (but I now keep SP full size but minimise the other docs).
As to another addition for Scotland, it is really satisfying to add another piece to what is pretty much an unlimited jigsaw puzzle. I say again your Grampians page is magnificent - and I have seen some of your other stuff too (infact I think your Glencoe page was one of the first bits of SP I looked at before I signed up - and got hooked!).
Cheers, Mark
I missed this comment Dan - but yes, thinking about it maybe you are right. I am aware I didn't add much on making the ascent from the Sgurr a' Mhaim end first - and I didn't experience the Ring of Steall in winter (although from just a mile or so away I've a fair idea). Maybe Na Gruagaichean and Binnean Mor probably both deserve seperate pages, given Stob Ban, An Gearanach and Sgurr a Mhaim have pages in mountains & rocks... hmm, you could go on forever couldn't you?
Nice to hear from you again Sarah and thanks for the kind remarks. Having seen some of your contributions, you are generous indeed as I am definately not in your league!
How is the pre-mid life crisis going? My late middle age crisis (Aconcagua in Feb) went well, but I already need another one...
Cheers, Mark
With a new set of knees and lumbar spine a brace of 6000ers I spotted on the distant horizon from Aconcagua (in my dreams), but at more realistic moments, maybe a few more trips up to Scotland - and maybe I still have it in me to make one more journey up Mont Blanc in a couple of years (to celebrate 30th anniversary of 1st time I climbed it).
Will look out for your next antics on SP - best of luck - although with the list you have ticked off, maybe you're going to have to start on a different continent now?! best wishes,Mark
Thanks Dan, yes we need a few more for the UK. Thanks to the likes of your good self, Boydie & Co there is a lot of fantastic work done - but there are still a lot of blanks on the map. I am starting to think like a Munroist.. there are still those 3 far eastern Mamores... and then a wee look at the White Corries (for which there isn't a SP page yet, I think) - what about you?
Cheers, Mark
Hi Mark,
I'm echoing the comments of the other guys.
I think the Ring of Steall definitely would warrant it's own page.
It is a great outing in any weather/season and Challeges the Snowdon Horseshoe for the best in the UK in my opinion.
Have you had any more thoughts about posting it?
I'm sure you would get some fotos from the usual suspects if your files are a bit light.
It may be a while before I could get round to posting it - happy for someone else to have a go and by all means use my photos.
As it happens I am struggling with the new editor trying to write another route page - having such difficulty, it may be a very long time until I dare try to write a page again! :(
yep, I've found the new format a bit testing too and I also found that it buggered up the layout of some of my existing pages (scuze my french).
Maybe we could lobby the Elves to accept *.pdf files then we could create off-line to our satisfaction and then see the same appearance when uploaded??
Maybe we could have a small group development of a new page?? with the usual suspects.

Re: Good AdditionHey guys! I would say the Ring of Steall was best suited to a route page myself. Good luck to whoever creates it!

Re: Bravo!Mark,
Well, my full mid-life crisis is arriving pretty slowly. ;)
I'm glad things went well on Aconcagua. What's next on the adventure list?
